Refund Policy

All donations made by individuals, groups, or through crowdfunding campaigns are considered gifts made voluntarily to Military Order of the Purple Heart Service Foundation, a 501( c )(3) non-profit ("Charity"), with no conditions. Donors receive a tax receipt from the Charity auto generated by the payment platform Trail Software (d/b/a Kindful) at the time of the donation. Donors who request refunds may not be eligible for tax deductions on their refunded donations.

Refunds may be granted at the sole discretion of Military Order of the Purple Heart Service Foundation. Refunds are granted only in exceptional circumstances, and only when the funds have not been granted to a charity program, service, academic award or otherwise. Some instances in which a donor may be granted a refund include the following:
1.) The donation was made in error, was made in an incorrect amount or the selected charity was not the intended charity.
2.) The donation was not authorized by the donor, or
3.) The donor's circumstances have changed materially, for instance, if the donation was made from the proceeds of a sale on eBay and that sale has been cancelled and refunded.

Any donors who wish to request a refund for donations made through GoFundMe should contact GoFundMe directly to request a refund of the relevant transaction.
